Edgewood Loop
A 3.5 mile loop through the rolling hills of Edgewood Park. This run offers something for everyone: winding uphill climbs, invigorating descents, views, and plenty of wildflowers and wildlife. It’s also easy to access from nearby peninsula towns and 280.

The Flight Plan
0.0 - 0.4 mi
From the parking area, go up a very short paved path in the direction of the picnic area. The Edgewood Trail starts just to your right. Follow the trail up a winding, surprisingly demoralizing climb.
0.4 - 1.3 mi
Stay on the Edgewood Trail, which will eventually bring you to the west side of the park with views of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
1.3 mi
The Edgewood Trail leads to the Sunset Trail. This intersection is somewhat confusing because the Edgewood Trail actually continues to the right, but you should go straight onto the Sunset Trail.
1.3 - 2.1 mi
Follow the Sunset Trail through open fields and up a short climb to the intersection with the Serpentine Trail.
2.1 - 2.2 mi
Turn left onto the Serpentine Trail. After a short stretch, the Serpentine Trail will intersect with the Live Oak Trail. Veer right to continue on the Serpentine Trail.
2.2 - 2.4 mi
Follow the Serpentine Trail until it turns into the Sylvan Trail, then continue straight along the Sylvan Trail.
2.4 - 3.3 mi
The Sylvan Trail is one of my personal favorites in Edgewood for its short, but satisfying turn by a small waterfall. This section of the trail always feels more epic than I expect.
3.3 - 3.5 mi
The trail will come to a fork with the Baywood Glen Trail. Stay right to continue along the Sylvan Trail back to the parking lot.
Tips
Edgewood is a popular local park on weekends and the parking lot is small. I’d recommend going early or late in the day to avoid peak crowds.
If you can’t get parking in the main Edgewood lot, you can also access the park via trailheads on Canada Road (Clarkia Trailhead) or Sunset Way (Sunset Trailhead).
Spring is a particularly great time to visit Edgewood because of its abundant wildflowers.
